Chocolate cake

So as I haven’t done a recipe in a little while, I thought I would show you how to make this delicious chocolate cake that is super easy to make.
So for this you will need:
150g unsalted butter
150g dark or milk chocolate (depends how rich you want the cake)
150g caster sugar
5 eggs
150g self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
For the filling :
100g butter
200g icing sugar
2 tbsp of cocoa powder
For the top:
100g milk chocolate
Sprinkles or smarties
Preheat the oven to 180c, line the cake tin and put the chocolate pieces in a heat proof bowl that is over a pan of gently simmering water and stir until it melts.Leave to cool


Meanwhile cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl ,using a hand whisk until light and fluffy. Lightly whisk in the eggs until their well combined. Sift in the flour and baking powder into the bowl and fold them in gently using a large metal spoon. Then mix in the chocolate you should have a smooth texture.




Pour the mixture into the prepared tin, smooth the top and bake in the preheated oven for 35 mins until you place a skewer in the cake  and it comes out clean. Leave to cool.



Then cream the butter and the icing sugar and add in the cocoa powder then cut the cake down the middle and smooth in the icing.

Then melt the chocolate and pour it on the top and decorate with sprinkles.
